Chaotic Wellspring: Power swirls within the Arcanist, potent yet unformed. At times it bursts forth in new forms, summoned by unconscious need to the Arcanist's aid. The Arcanist gains a flexible bonus feat, identical to the Man-at-Arms' Wildcard feat, except that the feat must be chosen from the Arcane category and may have a maximum mastery equal to the Arcanist's Arcane Mastery -2.
Soul Alignment: While the Arcanist's overall transformation is deliberately driven, some aspects of it arise automatically, without the Arcanist's conscious volition. As he uses certain spells, his soul naturally aligns in patterns that favor them, allowing the spells to be channeled more easily and with greater power. At 5th level, choose a single Focus Option of a single spell. That Option requires one less Focus Token than normal to activate. This may reduce an Option's cost to zero, but not below. Options that can be bought multiple times count as separate Options for this purpose. For example, both of the Focus

Very special note! This license does not compel you to publish your work for others to use. If you want to keep things to yourself, have at it; it would be overreaching of me to compel you to violate your privacy and share your personal work. However, if you do share your work, you are not allowed to encumber it with copyright that restricts others ability to share. Once another person has your work, it is theirs, and they can do what they wish with it, including giving it away for free. However, I've become somewhat more missionary 'bout this lately. Public domain is wonderful in almost every aspect - people can feel free to exercise their own creativity to improve upon my work and share it with others, and that lets everyone win. But it has one glaring flaw - someone can take my work, incorporate it into their own work, perhaps with changes, and then copyright their work. Even though people can still access my work freely and share it as they wish, they can't do the same with the portion of my work in the new work. This goes against the entire idea. I put my stuff out there to be used and improved, not to be locked down behind paywalls. If someone improves upon what I've done, I want them to share it as well, the same as I've done, so that I can use their new-and-improved work as well. It's a constant flow of ideas back and forth where everyone wins.
In order to ensure that this happens, any new improvements to Ironcarnum will be published under the Creative Commons BY-SA license.

Focusing and Ladening spells
Practices mages can focus their attention on particular spells, increasing the mana flow to them and thus their power. Many spells have Focus Options given as part of their descriptions. These are special abilities that increase the strength of the spell or provide additional abilities. Battlecasting is designed to be minimally stressful on the body, so that a warrior may use it without fear of retribution during a lengthy summoning ritual or the like. At times, though, one needs more power than can be summoned easily. It is extremely dangerous to draw more of the raw stuff of creation than one can handle, but techniques have been developed over time to allow one to safely handle larger amounts of mana, though they are very stressful and require a period of rest before they can be repeated. This is known as ladening a spell.
battlespell. Most Ladening is part of the process of casting for these spells, though, and cannot be avoided. Thus, these spells may only be ladened or cast once every few ro

Rarely seen in combat, the Giftmesser is a dark creation of the Ancients. It deals 1d4 20/x2 Poison (exotic) damage in melee, and is opposed by Fort. Its talisman is a genegineered insect created by the Ancient's technology, which burrows into the wielder's wrists and exposes its stinger. EM3 makes it even deadlier - the battlespell is treated as a Dagger, and deals 1 Con damage on a critical hit.
Mindlash
does 1d8 1d6 20/x2 Piercing Damage in both melee and ranged combat, and is opposed by Will. An order of courtesan ninjas who run their intrigues in the courts of Keria use this battlespell. The silken sleeves of their robes, when charged with arcane power, become as knives in their hands. It deals 1d6 19-20/x2 Slashing damage in melee, and is opposed by Reflex. Its talisman is a fine silk robe. EM3 makes the silk flow again, making it a Tripping weapon.
Prismatic Ray
lost Cyklos, Kyklos, the Prismatic Ray can serve almost any purpose for a gifted wielder. It deals 1d6 20/x2 Fire damage in long-range combat, and is opposed by Reflex. Its talisman is a traditional wand, with small semi-precious jewels on the business end. EM3 is where it acquires its name; as a standard action, the caster can change the damage type to any other common energy.
Giftmesser
1d4 20/x3 20/x2 Poison (exotic) damage in melee, and is opposed by Fort.
